In the Beginning...

God created everything, and it was good. Many, many years later, God created me, and 29 years after that, your father and I created you! That's an oversimplification, but you get the point. You've been very kind to me these past few days; I've had less cramping and pain. I thank you for your kindness, but I shouldn't really blame you for making your new home as comfortable as possible, should I? You are helping to stretch and grow my uterus to the perfect size for the long nine months that you will live there. You will be growing and eating and eventually kicking and punching me with abandon. I hear it doesn't hurt, though, so I 'll take that over the cramps and gas!

It will be a month or two before I begin to show, but I can't wait. I think it will help really drive home to your father that you're here and you're coming whether we're ready or not. However, I don't look forward to people making comments about my pregnancy and asking questions because, while I do generally like people, I'm less inclined to talk to random stranger while out doing errands like grocery shopping. We currently babysit your cousin, who is two years older than you, on the weekends and we get a lot of comments about him, which I'm getting more used to, but could honestly do without. They tell us he's cute or that he's big for his age and ask us his name. I know they're not being malicious and people love babies, as do I, but I'd rather not have these interactions. These experiences will be tenfold with you, though because you'll be with us all the time and because you are going to be the cutest little thing! I have it on good authority.
